Also note that Russia and China are buying a lot of gold in the last years. There were rummer that china is planning to back it's currency with gold. (as was with the USD before 1971).

 
I would like to hear your thought of Bitcoin ? as few sources state it indeed has some similarities with gold, like being out of control of the central banks, and has limited and predicted supply.
