There is a middle ground between communism and ruthless capitalism.  That middle ground existed as the moral capitalism described in "The Protestant Ethic and the Spirit of Capitalism".  It currently exists among the Mennonites.  And it is what the Old Testament advocates.

This middle ground basically means people being moral with each other and doing favors for each other, but not being obligated to provide long-term help for others.  Mikraite-2 still offers significant benefits.  If you want to start a business, you can get valuable help and advice from other Mikraites.  But we will not put your business on welfare.  You have to make it work in the end.  And whether or not Single Sushi works, we have developed the tools to allow any Mikraite to find a wife, which is a valuable service.  And finally I am going to do serious research into which religions meet Mikraite-2 requirements, and I will share the results which should be useful to others.  (I just sent 22 emails to Orthodox churches in the Philadelphia area.)

When I was an employee, I was very interested in worker co-ops.  But having run businesses now, I have lost interest in this.  This is another area where God/reality has spoken.  Worker co-ops are not competitive.  In business, like in war, you need one commander in chief to be fully responsible for success.
