Here is the reason that Muslims object to being called Mohammedans:

I think the same reasoning applies to us.

That reasoning isn't strong.

From the article, you can see that for a very long time Muslim were known as the Mohamed followers and only in modern times the Muslim names takes over.

The scripture is an open document, is the foundation. Different religions grew out of it by taking a position on what's the key thing. Christianity works by adding new testament and make Christ as the key thing?  Mormon added a new scripture book of Mormon to make Mormon the key thing? Muslim by adding the Koran and make Mohamed the key thing? Judaism sticks with the scripture but it takes the Jewish race as the key thing?

The term "Mohammedan" was only used in the Christian West, never by Muslims themselves.  And the reason is strong, the reason is that both Judaism and Islam absolutely refuse to worship men.  Only Christianity does this by turning Jesus into a god.

Each religion is named after what is their core.  The core of Christianity is Christ.  The core of Mormonism is The Book of Mormon.  The core of Islam is submission to God as described in the Quran.  ("Islam" means submission.)  The core of Judaism is the Jewish race.  I think the core of our religion is the Old Testament which is why I like Mikra-based names.  In Hebrew, Mikra is basically mi-kara where "mi" means "from" and "kara" means "to read" or "what is read".  The word Mikra is the old Hebrew word for the Old Testament.

We discussed tanakh based names.  The word "tanakh" is also spelled "tanak" and "tanach" but "tanakh" is the most common.  Of the endings -ist, -ite, and -an, I think -ist works best here giving us "tanakhist.org".

Biblicology

The domain name is available.

Mikra is meaningless. Require a 2nd line to add meaning. By itself, it has no weight.

Old testament followers is negative. It will make us instant reject to many people. More importantly, we don't stone people and we eat pork.

We don't FOLLOW. We try to understand the principles and we apply the biblical principles to this life.

We are also not the biblicist, the fundamentalists.
