Our declaration currently reads:
------------------------------------------------------------------------------
The god of the Hebrew Bible is my god.
The people who keep the Sabbath, who dress modestly and have no tattoos, and who make this declaration sincerely are my people.
------------------------------------------------------------------------------
I would like to change this to:
------------------------------------------------------------------------------
The god of the Hebrew Bible is my god.
The people who keep the Sabbath, who dress modestly and have no tattoos, and who make this declaration and abide by it are my people.
------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Again, this emphasizes action over feeling or concept. I replaced "sincerely" with "and abide by it" to replace intent with results. This also changes the declaration into an ongoing obligation.
