Zodiac signs

Recently I went to my Snapchat profile and saw a zodiac sign next to my profile, I didn't understand what it meant so after some research I found out it is completely meaningless. How can someone's personality be dictated by some pattern in space at a certain time and from what time of the year they were born? I can't even disable this meaning not only will I be ashamed viewing my profile, I'll be disgusted viewing other people's profiles.

How can anyone just accept something like this? Am I misunderstanding this or are people actually this gullible?
