When I was 15 there was a girl a year younger than me in my computer class, and she would do things like tease me because a victoria secret ad popped up on my computer screen, saying I was "watching porn". And one day she typed up some kind of sexually explicit "funny" homoerotic note about my fat friend and had me read it. Something like "Brian likes to have sex with men and gag on dicks".
What I find strange is that I was never phased by any of this. I did not get nervous around her, and never got infatuated with her, and never schemed to make her my girlfriend. First, I did not fully realize the discrepancy of sexual power between men and women at that time, and second, I was in a brainwashed mode of thinking that since she was younger than me I would be a loser pedo for pursuing her so I did not think of her as a sexual object. I also vaguely remember thinking the note she wrote about my friend was mean, and I might have defended him. She wasn't a super popular/attractive girl, but she was relatively attractive, and later on in college she was in a sorority. Today I would be exceedingly intimidated by her. But back then she was just a person. Sometimes I wonder if I had the right instincts, r-selected instincts, I would have ended up making her my girlfriend. Also, it sucks that after high school you stop having these kinds of everyday interactions with women. Even in college, studying engineering, I never had this kind of interaction with women.
