Modern scum hate good code

There is nothing that modern scum hate more than good code.  Both good computer code and good genetic code.  So of course they hate both good programmers and eugenics, because both produce good code.

Out of curiosity can you ever think of a time in contemporary history where good tech actually caught on and improved over worse tech?

1600-2000 I think
