Is it good to be good?

If AI is developed to the point that it becomes superhuman, then AI will be so good that it will end up replacing humans, making them obsolete, and ultimately destroying humanity. This makes me wonder if it is even good to be good. Like, if I make some product that is better than existing products, and this improves people's lives, have I really done a good thing? - have I benefitted the world?

It is good to be good for good people.  Make good things that good people can use.  Of course there is no point making good things for modern scum.
