I fucking hate the advice my family gives me

OmegaKV
The other day I sent some texts to the family group chat, livid at the lack of social life the Baha'i community has given me. My dad called me to tell me that if I want to meet a good girl I should volunteer at the soup kitchen, or homeless shelter, but I shouldn't do it just to get a girlfriend, I should do it because I want to serve humanity, and then if I do it with a pure heart then things will naturally fall into place and I will get a girlfriend. Hearing this shit really makes me want to start chimping out. Has he tried this himself? Of course not. I suspect he heard this platitude somewhere in the mainstream, and he is repeating it to me because he has faith that mainstream society is good and that it would have a solution for me if I were only more virtuous. Fuck this shit. The reason they say volunteer at the homeless shelter is that it takes a lot of effort, and when you think about it it is clear that it won't work (because what young female would go out of her way to spend time with homeless guys?), so it's advice the recipient certainly will not follow, and then when he doesn't follow it the person giving the advice can say "you didnt make an effort to follow my advice, so you are incel because you are not willing to make an effort".

I’m sorry your dad is just as naive as mine. I won’t even argue with my dad

My uncle put a great deal of effort into ensuring his 14 year old son would be able to get a girlfriend, and he got one. Some of the things he did:

* His son was being harassed by other students at school (like I was), so he pulled him out of school and homeschooled him, so that he wouldn't develop social anxiety like I did

* He enrolled him in mixed gender sports so that he would meet girls his age.

* At the mixed gender sports, he noticed a girl there seemed to like his so he spoke with his son and spoke with the girl's parents, and pulled strings to make it so that this girl would become his son's girlfriend, and it worked

Like what the fuck, why couldn't there have been someone doing these things for me growing up?

A YouTuber named Monday made a video o this long ago. For normal people it happens naturally either through mutual friends or through family (in traditional societies)

But for us incels it’s never “our turn”

If it was “our turn” it’s a quick rejection
