How do you view the recent Hamas attack and Israel’s retaliation?

Peter
It’s an ethnic blood feud far from us, but in New York we see the supporters from both side clashing. How do you see it? Sit on the sidelines and watch the hilarity ensue?

There is nothing particularly interesting about this war.  It is just part of an ongoing land dispute between Jews and Palestinians.  Both have some claim to the land of Israel/Palestine.  I think the Palestinians have a somewhat better claim, so I side with them, but even the question of who has the better claim is not the critical question.  The critical question is how can different groups share the same land without conflict.

The modern Western answer to this question is multiculturalism.  But of course this is a complete disaster and destroys all groups involved.

The best answer that I know of is the Muslim dhimmi system.  When Islam started and Muslims expanded, they occupied many territories where they were a minority.  In order to live in peace with the local non-Muslims, they devised the dhimmi system.  Unlike multiculturalism, the dhimmi system preserves all groups living together on the same land.  There is no reason why the Jews couldn't use the dhimmi system with themselves at the top instead of Muslims.  This would allow Palestinians to live freely in Israel/Palestine and would solve the current endless conflict.

It would take some research to fully answer, but there are some obvious difference.  Apartheid is based on race while the dhimmi system is based on religion of ethnicity.  Dhimmi groups were largely self-governing while groups subject to apartheid were not.  Apartheid also had significant legal differences between the rights of the groups, while the differences for dhimmi groups were minor.

The video looks edited. Maybe it is just done for brevity, but I would like to see the full video to make sure that the clips are not taken out of context.
