They present no evidence that homosexuality harms civilization.  My position is that homosexuality is a symptom of civilizational decline, and what they discuss from Ibn Khaldun seems to support this.

If this is the case then homosexuality can be thought of as the scented gas that they mix the odorless flammable gas, so that gas leaks do not go unnoticed. It may be harmless by itself, but if you smell it it is time to run away.

Yes. It is a smell of collapsing culture. So it would be advantageous to be homophobic, because homophobes would avoid these cultures.
