Intuitive user interfaces seem to be the thing modern scum are the most incompetent at designing. They excel by doing "backend" crap throughout their careers, because management doesn't know what the "backend" crap does, which basically gives them the freedom to create an idol and convince management that the "backend" thing is doing good things for the facility.
But with designing a good user interface, it is harder to fool management on this. The users have to actually be happy with it, and if they are not then it is hard to convince management of its value.
So user interfaces are kryptonite for modern scum. It is something they run away from and try to avoid doing at all costs. I think it is funny watching the modern scum from my last work place scramble to create a usable user interface for their software. I already did this for them, but they hated me for it.
