Expensive weddings

OmegaKV
I have noticed people often delay getting married because they are not yet ready to tolerate the planning and the costs of a wedding. They want to rent a grand hall, large enough to host the entire extended family plus the hordes of friends that a typical normies has. And they want to cater it.

These kinds of things will be a significant burden on college aged people, and on ghetto thugs as well. So they will just live in fornication until they can afford it (which is often never).

Does it make sense for weddings to be this grand and expensive? Would it be better if cheap Las Vegas type weddings were the norm?

Re: Expensive weddings

When the Prophet Muhammad married Khadija, his first and most beloved wife, Muhammad's dowry consisted of 12 ounces of gold and 20 camels. These were provided by Muhammad's uncle Abu Talib. The actual wedding between them was very simple and simply consisted of a sermon read by Abu Talib, and a recitation of mutual love between Muhammad and Khadija. There was no extravagant spending or reception party.

If people insist on having expensive weddings, they deserve to remain unmarried, live in sin, and go to Hell for refusing to obey God's Word.
