The Torah was given to the community of Israelites, not to individuals. Religion can only be meaningfully practiced in a religious community. In the modern world where we don't live in tribes, we form a religious community by gathering for regular religious service. In the case of Biblic Judaism, this is a weekly synagogue service. Meeting physically in the real world is best, but attending our online synagogue service also works.
Our online synagogue starts on Saturday at 1:00 pm PST (
see your local time). It is held on Skype. Connect to Skype ID "biblic.judaism". The service consists of reading the
parsha (Torah reading) for the week in English. You can find the parsha by going here:
http://www.chabad.org/parshah/default_cdo/jewish/Torah-Portion.htmAnd then clicking on the "Text of Parshah (Hebrew & English Linear Translation)" link. We take turns reading each portion and then discuss each portion after reading it.
