LaTeX is on par with Android in terms of its shittiness, complexity, and unusability. It is truly a horrible piece of shit. Thankfully I don't write many papers so my encounters with LaTeX have been minimal until recently. But now I am trying to create a PDF of my translation of the Kitab i Badi, and I want make a side-by-side columns for English/Persian, with a row for each paragraph like I have here:

I think the reason why LaTeX sucks so badly despite being old software is that it is used by academics, and for a long time now academics have been in the business of glorifying shit. Academia is the field most removed from the real world, so no one notices when it goes rotten, which means that it can afford to go rotten before the other fields.
