AI expert slams Elon Musk-signed ‘pause’ letter: ‘Everyone on Earth will die’

What makes this guy an "expert"? Has he ever programmed an AI? Does he even know calculus and basic math? I looked him up and he seems to be an Orthodox Jew who never even went to high school, and probably only got the privilege to speak and write about these subjects by virtue of nepotism.
